There are so many wonderful opportunities for you to get involved at RRMS. Volunteer Coordinator – This job is probably the most important job available. Even if you are the most organized person on the planet, you may want a Co-Chair. We have simplified the process and implemented some new tools making this much easier than it sounds!
Responsibilities include:
~Making and displaying Volunteer Sign Up Boards for all back to school functions, first day of school, and welcome back coffees and curriculum night to encourage volunteerism in addition to providing opportunities for sign ups as needed throughout the year
~Adding names of new volunteers to our database and maintaining the database throughout the year
~Working closely with the Executive Board, Teachers, Administration, Event Chairs, and Chairs to ensure all events and activities are sufficiently staffed with volunteers.
~Utilizing our new email marketing tool, Mail Chimp, and our Volunteer Recruiting Software, you will be advertising open positions, collecting contact info, providing job descriptions for new volunteers, confirming participation, and thanking them after the activity or event.
Back to School Coordinator – This incredibly organized person will work closely with Eve, our School Secretary to ensure all appropriate forms and documents are mailed to all RRMS families in a timely fashion, and that all school supplies are sorted and distributed prior to the first day of school.
Responsibilities include:
~Work with volunteer coordinator to recruit volunteers to prepare, stuff and mail back to school packets (approx. 5 hours with 5 people)
~Sort and distribute ESD school supplies to Teachers prior to first day of school (approx. 3 hours with 5 people)
~Organize and put away school work room supplies prior to the first day of school (approx. 2 hours with 2 people)
~Sort and distribute all pre-ordered school supplies for students (approx. 2 hours with 3 people)
All of these duties are typically done one week prior to school starting.
Student Directory – This position is for someone who loves to organize data. An order form is sent home to all families in the back to school packet in September. Once all data is updated into the school computer system, a list is released for publishing in the school directory.
Responsibilities include:
~Updating the order form and providing a copy to the President for inclusion in the back to school packet
~Collecting orders weekly and submitting money to the treasurer
~adding and removing info into directory database
~Submitting final order to ESD Printing
~Distributing orders to kids by Advisory class
Staff Appreciation ~ This is a wonderful way to get to know Teachers and Staff…and have fun spoiling them all year long! We always have a list of people who want to help with Staff Appreciation, so you will have lots of helpers!
Responsibilities Include:
~acknowledging special occassions and birthdays for teachers and staff
Parent Education~ Our goal is to inform and educate parents about a variety of topics that will encourage partnerships between parents and school staff and teachers. We survey parents each year to find out what “hot topics” they are interested in.
Responsibilities include:
~Researching and interviewing potential speakers
~Scheduling the event through Event Brite, inviting parents, sending out email reminders for registration and setting up the event. (because we use Event Brite and Mail Chimp, this is a snap)
