8th Grade Recognition and Celebration

Dear 8th Grade Parents and Guardians,

e9988a07-d60c-4c02-8b58-b189acec971fAs we begin the final lap of the school year, we wanted to let you know about some important year-end dates for the 8th graders.  Please mark your calendars for the following:

  • The last day of school for 8th graders will be Thursday, June 9th.  Starting at 9:30am, there will be a Recognition Assembly in the Rosemont Ridge gymnasium.  Every 8th grader will be recognized at this assembly.  The dress is casually nice and we request that the clothes meet our standards for modesty. All parents, guardians, and family members are cordially invited to attend this portion of the day’s activities.  More information on this will be communicated by RRMS.
  • At 11:30am the kids will leave for a fun-filled afternoon at Bullwinkle’s with the 8th grade team teachers. We ask that student’s behavior reflect our RRMS touchstone standard while at Bullwinkle’s. They will return to school around 3:30pm and will be back in time to take their buses home.
  • The evening of Thursday, June 9th, all 8th-grade students are invited to the 8th-grade Celebration from 7:00pm – 9:00pm.  This event is put on by the PTO, parents of 8th graders, and staff of RRMS.  The theme is kept secret until the students arrive. The dress is casual for the evening. Only 8th Grade RRMS students will be admitted to this event. Zero exceptions.  Click here for Permission Form.
  • The TOTAL cost for graduation day events is $37.00.  Payment can be made by clicking here, or by check left in the RRMS office by Monday, May 16, 2016.  If financial constraints are a concern, and you need assistance, please contact the school office so that every 8th grade student will be able to celebrate this special day.
  • And finally:  we need a baby photo for your student.  Click here to submit.  These will be used to make a wonderful personalized keepsake that will be hung in the hallways at graduation and sent home with each student on the night of the event.  PLEASE – do not make us use a photo of Bart Simpson on your child’s keepsake!

Thank you so much for supporting these final events of our school year!

Honor Our Teachers

The Honor Our Teachers campaign is happening now. It’s a special way to thank our teachers and staff for the excellence they bring to our schools. Last year you honored 100% of our teachers.Thank you! This year, our goal is to honor all of our dedicated staff, as well. Choose the teachers and staff you would like to honor by making a tax-deductible donation to the WLWV Education Foundation. You can donate online here:https://www.wlwvfoundation.org/civicrm/contribute/transact…
The Foundation will present a certificate and letter acknowledging your donation to each teacher and staff member you choose to recognize. It’s a very special gift delivered just before Winter Break.
Your donation will be included in the Foundation’s annual gift to the school district to fund additional teaching positions and maintain effective class sizes.
